“The piece is the first latin/jazz/classical mashup arrangement of mine and the whole process has been exciting and fun. I was first inspired by the energy that most upbeat Latin dance music has while I studied with Victor in the Latin Jazz Ensemble. Similarly, Mozart's Symphony No.40 1st movement starts with a strong statement, along with the repetitive chord progression, makes it a great piece for a complete make-over. For the audience, I hope it will be refreshing to hear the symphony in a different instrumental setting and musical style, perhaps you might even want to dance with it!” - Joyce Cheung
